Friday 6-12 - Heading North and a Luau

A late morning departure.

We visit a coastal bird sanctuary. Wrong time of the year for many birds to be present. Nice boardwalk! We try to find whales at our stop at McGregor Point and Lighthouse and at Whale Point. No whales. Good view of the wind farm though. We do finally see some Petroglyphs at the Olowalu Historic site. Not a huge number but just by the parking area. We stop in to view an 1850's era prison at Hale Paahao Prison. Nowhere near as bad as some prisons we've been to.

We're staying at Lahaina and tonight we're off to a Luau. Dinner, drinks and a stage show. Good night and it doesn't rain. Great show, so no wonder it is touted as one of the best in Hawaii. Good day.
